Edit the page → click + to add a web part → search for Button. Add your label and URL, then choose alignment and style. The Button web part renders as a clean, styled link — much more noticeable than a bare hyperlink buried in a paragraph.
Pages & Web Parts
Save a page as a template so every new page starts with the right layout
Open the page you want to use as a starting point → click the three dots (⋯) in the top toolbar → Save as template. Give it a name and description. When anyone clicks + New → Page on this site, your template appears in the picker alongside Microsoft's defaults.
Promote a news post from a subsite up to the hub so more people see it
If your sites are connected to a hub, news from any connected site appears automatically in the hub home's News web part — no extra step needed. To boost a specific post, open it → click Promote (the megaphone icon in the top toolbar) → Share to Teams or Send as email...
Schedule a news post to go live at a specific date and time
Create your news post as normal → instead of Publish, click the arrow next to it → Schedule. Pick the date and time you want it to go live. The post stays in draft until then — useful for announcements you write in advance or want to time for a Monday morning.
Embed a Microsoft Form so people can fill it in without leaving the page
In forms.office.com, open the form, click Share → Embed, and copy the code. On your SharePoint page, add an Embed web part and paste it in. The form works fully inside the page.
Add a News web part to keep a site feeling current
Edit the page, click + to add a web part, search for News, and drop it in. It automatically pulls news posts from the site and displays them as clickable cards — no manual updating needed.
