Custom columns aren’t filterable in search by default. In the SharePoint Admin Centre → Search → Manage search schema, find the crawled property for your column (usually ows_ColumnName), map it to a managed property with Refinable and Queryable enabled, then wait for a crawl cycle. The column then appears as a search filter.
